Stephen Gilberts calls on Brown to hold an election

Stephen Gilbert, the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for St Austell & Newquay, has called on Prime Minister Gordon Brown to call a General Election.

Stephen, who was speaking to Westcountry News at the Liberal Democrats' annual conference in Brighton, said:

"Here in Brighton we've debated issues of real concern to people in Cornwall, like affordable housing, access to dentists and replacing the council tax. I hope that Brown does call an early poll so that we can put these radical ideas to the people."
