St Austell

Stephen Gilbert has asked St Austell regeneration bosses to "get on with it", after a delegation met with Industry Minister Margaret Hodge MP.

The high-powered delegation met Government today to give Ministers an insight into the re-development of the town centre.

Commenting on the meeting, Stephen Gilbert said: "This was an important meeting to make sure that Government really understands and backs the plans for St Austell."

"St Austell is Cornwall's largest town and residents are rightly frustrated with what seems like slow progress in bringing this scheme forward."

"Although we do things "drekley" here, St Austell deserves a town centre we can all be proud of and my message to the project team is simple: get on with it."
